When my friend Katie asked us to bring along food for her hen party pre party, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try out making sushi. I’ve always wanted to give it a go and sushi is one of Katie’s favourite things… perfect! Making the maki was a lot easier than I expected once I’d got the hang of using the sushi roller bamboo thingy. Preparing the prawns was another matter though… try as I might I just couldn’t cut the prawns butterfly style like you get in the restaurants. In the end, after many attempts, I gave up and simply cut them in half. They don’t look quite right, but I was pleased with the outcome nonetheless. They were really tasty and I got lots of brownie points for the effort too… bonus!
